Nice circular walk incorporating St John's Abbey gate, Roman way camp, Friday woods. Donyland woods, Middlewick Rangers and Colchester cemetery. You have to cross Mersea Rd twice. It can be boggy and overgrown in places at certain times of the year. Refreshments and toilet in Colchester town. THIS ROUTE IS NOT POSSIBLE IF THE ARMY ARE TRAINING IN FRIDAY WOODS! LOOK OUT FOR RED FLAGS AND Signage.
