What to expect
Kathmandu, Nepal opens onto trails that leave the valley rim for pine forest, Tamang villages, and long Himalayan views. The Chisapani-Nagarkot Trek follows the ridge east of the city with sunrise lines toward Langtang, while the Helambu Trek heads north through Sundarijal, Chisapani, and Sermathang, where monasteries, stone paths, and high country air make the region feel far bigger than the capital below.
