Starting from Silent Valley reservoir car park, you’ll ascend the side of Moolieve. This hill will give you stunning views of the reservoir to your rear and the south Down countryside beyond. You’ll then follow the Mourne wall which is quite a challenging route that involves some climbing, to the summit of Wee Binnian. Onward to Slieve Binnian itself. Being a popular hike, from here the trail is reinforced with flat stones. A very steep upward hike is now stepped all the way down the west side of the mountain to the Crom Valley reservoir carpark. From there a flat walk on a tarmac road to Silent Valley. Toilets and a cafe there, although the cafe is challenging to find
