This is a circular route in Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) that visits the peaks of Carnedd y Filiast, Mynydd Perfedd, Elidir Fawr, and Elidir Fach, offering some amazing views of the peaks, as well as Marchlyn Mawr. The trail starts at an on-road parking area near Marchlyn Slate Quarry and follows the road for a short section towards Marchlyn Mawr. From here, you'll continue on the footpath, which steepens as you head up Carnedd Y Filiast. Walk along the ridge path to Mynydd Perfedd, heading around Marchlyn Mawr to Elidir Fawr, and visiting Elidir Fach before descending along the north side back to the start point. Elidir Fawr is the most northern peak of the Glyderau and means "Big Elidir". It references a warrior king in Welsh legend, Eliffer Gosgordafawr, who was undefeated in battle. It is also sometimes known as the Electric Mountain, due to the presence of the Dinorwig Power Station inside the mountain, where water flows from the upper reservoir, Marchlyn Mawr, to the lower reservoir, Llyn Peris.
