Challenging circular route from Forest Coal Pit in the Black Mountains, covering about 12.5 miles (20.1 km) with around 551 m of ascent and 580 m of descent. This extra difficult hike features long, steep climbs and rugged moorland paths with rewarding open hill views. Best suited to experienced, fit hikers with good navigation skills and appropriate gear. Ends close to the starting point for a satisfying full-day outing.
